Mandatory vaccination won't pass this year

A controversial bill that would have mandated a vaccine for a sexually transmitted disease won't move forward this year in the Georgia legislature. The Senate bill would have required the HPV vaccine for girls entering the sixth grade. HPV stands for Human Papillomavirus, which is said to cause cervical cancer. The bill’s sponsor – Snellville Senator Don Balfour – says there were just too many arguments against the mandatory vaccine. Balfour says he may bring the measure back next year.
