Concerns over PeachCare, and now the tornado damage in the state last week have affected the budget proposals of Governor Sonny Perdue. A House subcommittee yesterday approved a budget-draft that would cut the Governor's land conservation grants in half, from 50 down to 25 million dollars. It was late last week that another House panel pared-down Perdue's "Go Fish" proposal from 13 to 5-million dollars. Both initiatives were highlighted in the Governor's 'State of the State' address earlier this year.
