Georgia sports for Wednesday, May 16th

The Braves got back into the win column with a 6-2 win over the Nationals in Washington DC last night. Shortstop Edgar Renteria had a pair of home runs among his 3 hits. Tim Hudson on the mound turned in another solid performance, with 3 hits allowed over 7 innings. Hudson improved his record to 5-1. The Braves play the 3rd game in this series tonight with Kyle Davies on the hill.

Off the field, the sale of the Braves might be approved later today. Major League Baseball owners have a late-afternoon meeting to vote on the issue. The deal would send the Braves franchise, a group of publications and one billion dollars in cash from Time Warner to Liberty Media. In return, Time Warner would get back a huge amount of its' own stock.
