A group of 11 people have offered to put-up a one-million dollar bond to free Genarlow Wilson as he awaits appeal in his case. The New York investment manager heading the group says that Wilson deserves the chance to get his life back on track. Wilson's lawyer made the offer to the Douglas County District Attorney. However, the DA's office says Wilson is not eligible for an appellate bond because of his conviction on one of the called seven deadly sins under Georgia law.
Wilson is appealing a 10-year sentence for having consensual oral sex with a teenage girl when he was 17. The next hearing in the case is set for July 5th.
