$75 million for UGA

The University of Georgia in Athens is getting an extra 75-million from the state. The Red and Black reports the funding is part of the 2008 state budget. UGA says much of the money will go toward hiring 68 new faculty members. Some will be new teachers and others will replace positions lost in budget cuts from recent years. The College of Pharmacy is also set to receive 37 million to go toward its expansion scheduled to start this fall.
