Former Georgia Bulldog football coach Vince Dooley is set to undergo radiation treatments. A tumor that was removed last week from his vocal cords was found to be malignant. Dooley's wife Barbara told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that his prognosis is excellent, and that he will begin the treatment in mid-June. Dooley had been experiencing hoarseness for a few months when doctors found the tumor.
Dooley won six Southeastern Conference championships and a national title in his time as football coach--he retired from that post in 1988, but served as athletics director until 2004.
