The Atlanta Falcons have made a lot of news in the off-season, and most of hasn't been good. But their fans are still flocking to promotional events.
Falcons quarterback DJ Shockley stopped by a Rome Braves game this weekend to throw out the first pitch. He was part of the annual Falcons Caravan promotional tour, complete with cheerleaders and autographs.
Fans lined up to have their picture taken with Shockley, some shouting "Go Dawgs" as they waited for the flash.
The former UGA starting quarterback said that despite all the press attention, especially on starting quarterback Michael Vick, the Falcons are still keeping things together.
Shockley also said he hopes to see more playing time this season but not at the expense of Vick's troubles.
"Well, you know, I don’t think it's really affecting our team at all, you know what I mean? A lot of guys have things going on in their personal lives, but, you know, we really can't control that. We can just control what we can do in between the lines and we go out and try to prepare each day and, you know, what happens, happens."
