Georgia sports for Tuesday, June 19th

It was a great start for the Braves to their 9-game homestand, as they roughed-up the Red Sox last night at Turner Field, 9-4.

Catcher Brian McCann ripped a 3-run homer within a 4 RBI night. 1st baseman Scott Thorman added a 2-run homer. Chipper Jones and Edgar Renteria each posted 3 hits.

The Braves did much of their damage against Boston starting pitcher Curt Schilling--10 hits and 6 runs in 4-and-a-third innings. For the Braves on the hill, Chuck James got the pitching win, as he allowed 5 hits and 2 runs across 5-and-a-third innings.
