A coastal school system is getting a million-dollar federal grant to teach American history. The Savannah Morning News reports the money from the U.S. Department of Education will help teachers in Savannah-Chatham County become semi-experts in teaching America’s past. The funds help them travel to historical places, take workshops and bring in experts to the classroom. The goal is to make teaching American history more exciting to both teachers and students.
