Skip Schumaker hit a two-run home run and Scott Rolen added a three-run homer in the tenth inning to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 7-to-2 win over the Atlanta Braves. Schumaker, who entered last night's game in the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter, drove an 0-and-1 pitch from Tyler Yates over the right-field fence for his second homer.
Barry Bonds' pursuit of the home run record likely will resume back in San Francisco tonight against the Atlanta Braves. Bonds was held out of the Giants' starting lineup yesterday for the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers, though manager Bruce Bochy says the slugger would be available to pinch hit if needed.
