A Clarke County grand jury has indicted a driver who hit and nearly killed a UGA student riding his bike in Athens in April. 52-year-old Seyborn Gordon-Jr is facing five felony counts, including driving under the influence. Police say Gordon was making a left turn when he hit the cyclist. The student, 22-year-old Sam Lane-Jr, was in a coma for more than four weeks with extensive brain injuries. His father told the Athens Banner-Herald his son is on the way to a full recovery, but faces a year of therapy. The driver faces up to 75 years in prison.
