The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for southern Middle Georgia.
Perceived temperatures of 105 are forecast from midday until eight pm over a swath of the state including Americus, Columbus, Cordele, Dublin, Macon, Milledgeville and Warner Robins.
Temperatures are expected to lessen slightly by Thursday, continuing into next week.
