Troops from the Army's 324th signal battalion returned home on Sunday from an 18-month deployment in Iraq. Family and friends greeted them as their afternoon flight arrived at Lawson Field.
Several of the unit's soldiers were awarded Bronze Star Medals and Iraqi Campaign Medals, as well as a Special Safety Award in a ceremony held at Camp Victory on July 19th, according to this report.
The 324th set up telephone and internet service for other units in several regions of the country. The unit was stationed north of Baghdad.
