There has been a surge in signups for self-defense classes on the University of Georgia campus, in the wake of the abductions and assaults on at least two women. A spokesman for the group Safe Campuses Now says one class filled-up in four hours—more are planned. A UGA student and visitor from South Carolina in recent weeks were kidnapped in separate incidents—-one woman was driven across the county line and sexually assaulted. Both women thought they were getting a ride from a courtesy van. Police are still looking for a man driving a white unmarked van.
