Two Georgia Bulldog football players have been suspended for the team's season opening game in late August. Defensive back Donavon Baldwin and fullback Fred Munzenmaier were booked into the Clarke County jail early Sunday on alcohol-related charges. The backup players were both given a one-game suspension, to miss the August 30th game against Georgia Southern. The players will also be assigned community service and be disciplined within the team.
Women's college basketball from Sunday: 12th-ranked Georgia scored a win in Athens over Alabama 71-53. Tasha Humphrey netted a season-high 25 points. Georgia Tech's Yellow Jackets were losers on the road at Maryland in double overtime, 99-95.
