Much of the mountains of north Georgia remain under a winter weather and freezing rain advisory this morning. A mixture of sleet is expected from Hall to Hart counties. That could make road conditions dangerous for motorists making their way to work and school.
White County has closed its schools today.
With temperatures in the 20's, even an icy drizzle is enough to cause ice to form on roads and especially bridges and overpasses. Chris Horn of the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg said we can expect freezing rain to continue through mid to late morning when temperatures will begin to rise. Motorists are advised to stay off the roads if they don't have to go anywhere.
