Georgia landowners who open their property to hunters and so-called agri-tourists now would have some protections from some lawsuits. The Landowners Protection Act backed by Governor Sonny Perdue prevents property owners from being sued for accidents or injuries by visitors allowed on their land. However, property owners are still responsible for gross negligence, or if they knowingly put people in danger. The legislation was announced by the Governor yesterday during the Georgia Farm Bureau’s annual legislative luncheon.
