There is a new water management plan for water Georgia shares with Florida and Alabama. The federal government's new plan reduces how much water Georgia would have to send downstream to Florida's Apalachicola Bay during extreme drought. Georgia, Florida and Alabama have been fighting over water in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint river basin for nearly two decades. The Army Corps of Engineers developed new guidelines after the latest round of negotiations between the three states broke down in February.
