The state of Georgia has promised about 1 billion dollars in transportation contracts that it doesn't have the money to pay. Governor Sonny Perdue said Wednesday he is bringing in an outside auditor to scour the books at the Georgia Department of Transportation amid new reports of financial mismanagement. The problems mean that fewer transportation projects will move through this year.
