Columbus leads the state in the unenviable position of having the highest gas prices across Georgia, according the AAA's fuelgaugereport.

The average price-per-gallon for gas is averaging:

• Unleaded regular: $3.775
• Mid-price: $4.059
• Premium: $4.239
• Diesel: $4.399

Nationwide, the current average prices are:

• Unleaded regular: $3.758
• Mid-price: $3.990
• Premium: $4.134
• Diesel: $4.419
