Georgia sports for Tuesday, May 27th

Atlanta Braves--

The Braves completed an 11-game homestand with 8 victories, including Monday's 7-3 decision over the Arizona Diamondbacks. 1st-baseman Mark Teixeira had 4 RBI's to pace the Atlanta offense, while Manny Acosta recorded the pitching win in relief. The Braves split 4 games with Arizona in the series over the weekend. They also continue a successful trend at home--the Braves' 22-7 mark in games at Turner Field represents the best home record in the National League. The Braves now head on a road trip, where they've struggled with the NL's worst record away from home at 6-16. The Braves commence a 6-game swing with the first of 3 at Milwaukee this evening.

Georgia-Georgia Tech NCAA baseball--

Georgia's Bulldogs and Georgia Tech's Yellow Jackets are both part of the 64-team field for the NCAA baseball tournament. The two rivals were placed in the same regional to start play in Athens on the Bulldog's home turf. Host Georgia will face Lipscomb at 3pm Friday, while Tech will take-on Louisville 7pm Friday night.
