A national environmental group says water quality at Georgia's beaches is improving. In its annual survey of beach water quality, the National Resources Defense Council says, only about 4-percent of state beaches didn't meet bacteria standards last year. The state also had 11-percent fewer beach closures. However two groups -- Environment Georgia and the Center for a Sustainable Coast -- say Georgia uses outdated testing methods that still leave beach-goers vulnerable to bacterial illness.
