New water reservoirs are the latest victim of the state’s budget vows. The state has suspended 50 million dollars for grants to communities who want to build a reservoirs.
In a letter to local governments Chris Clark, head of the State’s Environmental Facilities authority says that the money is needed for essential government services and programs.
The General Assembly allocated the 50 million dollars earlier this year, before a sharp dip in state revenues.
