Panda cub condition upgraded to 'good'

The 2-week-old giant panda cub at Zoo Atlanta has been upgraded to good condition after a scare last week that drove zookeepers to put the tiny cub in an incubator. Sam Rivera, interim director of veterinary services, wrote in an update Friday that the male cub is steadily improving and has nearly doubled his birth weight of about four ounces. The cub's body temperature and blood sugar levels dropped suddenly September 1st, likely because he wasn't getting enough milk from his mom, Lun Lun (LOON LOON). Zookeepers believe she had infected or swollen mammary glands. After a night in an incubator, the cub was returned to Lun Lun. He is the second panda cub born at Zoo Atlanta. Mei Lan was born in 2006.
