More than 200 workers at the Warner Robins Air Logistics center are being asked to retire or leave early.
The 402nd Maintenance Wing helps maintain and repair aircraft like the F-15 fighter jet and the C-130 transport plane. Seven-thousand people work in that division.
Now over 200 so-called 'white collar' workers in the unit are being asked to retire or take incentive packages up to 25-thousand dollars.
Officials say part of the problem is that half of employees at the WRALC are eligible to retire, but they're sticking around. The low attrition rates only add to the problem.
People have until October to make up their minds. If enough people do not step forward base officials say they will have to make involuntary reductions.
