State revenue down for first quarter

The state ended it’s first quarter with is a 2.6 % revenue shortfall. That’s in line with the $1.6 billion dollar overall deficit expected for the entire year.

July and August of this year saw revenue decline of 7 percent. But numbers for September showed a 4.5 % percent increase. Officials say that’s because in September they get quarterly tax payments and employee withholdings.
