A massive fire which broke out about 1 am Sunday morning at a tire manufacturing plant in Carroll County is nearly extinguished. There were no injuries in the blaze at the 250,000-square-foot Carlisle Tire and Wheel Company. The fire prompted school officials to cancel classes at five schools in Bowdon. Firefighters have been working on site 24 hours a day all week to put out the blaze and say most of the remaining structures on the grounds will have to be demolished.
