It's one way to cure a hangover -- a New Year's Day dip in frigid Lake Lanier. About 73 swimmers started 2009 with a chill and a traditional thrill at the Olympic Venue in Gainesville. Water temperature early Thursday was about 48 degrees. Participants in the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club Polar Bear Swim said it was their 12th annual dip in the lake.
