Georgia Senators on Thursday approved the plan that re-organizes how the state’s transportation bureaucracy is run. It was a 30-25 vote to hand more power to the Legislature and governor in how money is doled-out for transportation projects.
Replacing the process of a 13-member transportation board elected by the Legislature, is the process of an 11-person panel appointed by the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the House.
