Georgia Power: Lights on for Most Georgians

Fewer than 30,000 Georgians remain without power after severe thunderstorms moved through the state. That’s according to Georgia Power Company and Georgia Electric Membership Corporation.
Georgia Power said Tuesday it still has 29,000 customers without electricity, 25,000 in the Atlanta area. GEMC says about 60 customers remain without power, down from 41,000 at the height of the storm.
About 4,000 customers in the Rome area account for the outages out of the Atlanta area. Power is expected to be back on in all of metro Atlanta by midnight tonight.
