Three Georgia soldiers were killed in action June 4 near Kapisa, Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. John C. Beale, 39, of McDonough, Maj. Kevin M. Jenrette, 37, of Lula, and Spc. Jeffrey W. Jordan, 21, of Rome all died of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire.
The soldiers were assigned to the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, based out of Calhoun.
On Friday, Jordan's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church in Rome. On Saturday, Beale's funeral will be at 1 p.m. at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, while Jenrette's is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Gainesville.
