Steel beams bound for a 9/11 memorial in New York arrived today at the Port of Savannah. The beams measure 72 feet long and weigh 21.5 tons each. They were loaded onto trucks bound for lower Manhattan. They are destined for an underground museum 70 feet below ground zero of the 2001 terrorist attacks. The beams were milled in Luxembourg. The museum is set to open in late 2009.
