A member of the Richmond County coliseum authority and a community activist got into a shoving match at a meeting this morning, according to The Augusta Chronicle.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene, however, no arrests have been made at this point, the paper said.
The coliseum authority has been locked in a contentious battle over management of the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center Complex in Augusta.
The authority's chairman resigned this week.

Legislature takes up embattled coliseum authority in Augusta
A measure to re-organize the Augusta Coliseum Authority has passed the state House of Representatives.
The bill would replace current members of the authority with nine appointees, and require board members to work in entertainment, management or finance, according to The Augusta Chronicle. It would also allow city commissioners to remove authority members, the Chronicle reported.
The board has been embroiled in a political controversy over the Augusta entertainment venue in recent weeks, and has fired managers and employees during that time.
The measure now goes before the Senate.
