Hoschton scarecrows may have set record

Officials in the northeast Georgia town of Hoschton think they now have a new world record. Organizers of the city’s fall festival believe they’ve exceeded the goal of putting up more than 4,000 scarecrows by September 1st. If so, they would break the world mark for the most scarecrows in one location. The current mark belongs to the Cincinnati Horticultural Society’s Flower and Farm Fest—a record of 3,311 scarecrows gathered in 2003. Hoschton officials will have to wait 10 to 12 weeks until Guinness Book of World Records officials in London validate photos and videos.
