Georgia sports for Monday, June 18th

The Braves were 5-2 losers to the Indians in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon. Still, the Braves won 2-of-3 in that series, and finished the road trip with 2 wins in 6 games.

Chipper Jones recorded the 2000th for his career with a 1st inning single. He later added a double. Chipper already has the most hits in Atlanta Braves history, 100 more than Dale Murphy. However, Chipper is 1,599 behind the great Hank Aaron for the franchise record.

The Braves are back home--they'll open a 3-game series in Atlanta against the Boston Red Sox tonight. The Braves start action this evening a game-and-a-half behind the Mets in the NL-East. The visiting Red Sox own the best record in the majors at 44-24.
