Georgia is closer to expanding a state park. The Rockdale Citizen reports the Georgia Board of Natural Resources votes today on asking the state to add 202 acres to Panola Mountain State Conservation Park. The land sits between the summit of Panola Mountain and Alexander Lake – east of Atlanta. The goal is to include hiking and biking trails connecting Arabia Mountain to Panola to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. The $1.8 million-dollar price tag would be paid by a federal grant and private sources.
