The insurance company that hired private investigators to record a church support group is apologizing. The president of Progressive Northern Insurance Co. says what his employees and the private eyes did was wrong. A lawsuit filed by Bill and Leandra Pitts of Cobb County says a team of private investigators recorded them at their church support group. Couple sues private investigators
A Fulton County couple is suing a private investigating team for infiltrating and recording a church-related support group. Bill and Leandra Pitts are also suing the insurance company that hired the private eyes. The Pitts’ lawyer says Progressive Insurance company hired the investigators after the couple was in a car accident. During the support group sessions people admitted things like drug addictions, sexual orientation issues and abortions. The Pitts' lawyer says the investigative team is guilty of what he calls "an invasion of privacy to the worst degree."
