Former lawmaker and Transportation chair dies
A former state senator and Transportation Board chairman has died--Steve Reynolds passed away Monday after a long battle with lung cancer, he was 87 years old. Reynolds was a native of Commerce and a World War II veteran. He held several posts locally in Commerce before beginning a 14-year run in the Senate in 1968. He also served for two decades on the state Transportation Board--many of those years as chairman. A major Gwinnett County road is named for Reynolds. Funeral services will be held Thursday.
