Augusta school ranks in Top 100

U.S. News and World Report has named Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School in Augusta as one of the top 100 schools in the nation.

It is the only school in Georgia to earn that distinction.

"The students who come here are willing to work hard to make really good grades, take hard courses and also work really hard in their fine arts areas," said Vicky Addison, the school principal.

The school focuses on music, dance, theatre, and visual arts, in addition to core academics and college prep courses.

Nearly 700 students in grades six through 12 attend Davidson.

The school ranked 84 out of more than 18,000 schools nationwide.
