Georgia sports for Monday, June 30th

Atlanta Braves--

The Braves completed a weekend series in Toronto with a 1-0 loss to the Blue Jays Sunday afternoon. Atlanta dropped 2-of-3 in the series. It was a tough loss for Braves' starting pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes, who only allowed the single run with 6 hits across 7 innings of work. Toronto starter A.J. Burnett was just a bit better, with 4 hits scattered and 11 strikeouts over his 7 innings on the hill.

UGA mascot--

The burial for the University of Georgia’s team mascot will be later today in Athens. Uga-VI died Friday night of heart failure, only weeks away from his 10th birthday. The English Bulldog had been U-G-A’s team mascot since 1999. Uga-VI will be buried inside Sanford Stadium on the school’s campus.
