Georgia company pays record pollution fine
The federal government has fined a Georgia company nearly 4-million dollars for illegal pollution. Acuity Specialty Products Group of Atlanta makes detergent and cleaning products, many marketed under the brand name Zep. The company admits to submitting false information on the chemicals it released to the Atlanta wastewater treatment facility. It’s the largest fine for violating environmental laws against a company in the region.
