A University of Georgia tenured professor has been fired after officials learned of a past conviction for sexual molestation. Cecil Fore III served time in an Alabama prison in the early 1990’s--he was convicted of molesting students under his supervision as a junior high school special education teacher. UGA officials say Fore lied about the conviction on a security questionnaire. The 50-year-old served as associate professor of communication science and special education--he had been with UGA since 2001.
