Alleged victim seeks high court hearing

A woman who says she was sexually assaulted by a member of a prominent Georgia family will ask the state Supreme Court to hear the civil case. Last week, the Georgia Court of Appeals refused to hear the case of Melanie Ross. Ross accuses Daniel Day of battery after she says she awoke from a night with him with injuries a doctor associated with a sexual attack. Day is the son of state Representative Burke Day, whose family founded the Days Inn hotel chain.
