Falcons take 11 players in NFL Draft

As the NFL Draft wrapped-up this weekend, the Atlanta Falcons believe
they have three rookies who can step-in right away and become starters
for the upcoming season.

The Falcons' 1st 3 selections are all players that fill a need the team
had going into the draft. Jamaal Anderson was the Falcons' 1st pick at
number-8 overall in the 1st round. He's out of Arkansas, and would fill
the spot at 'defensive end', left open by the departure of veteran Patrick
Kerney as a free agent.

The Falcons' two 2nd-round picks are also players they believe
can become starters: Big offensive lineman Justin Blaylock out of
Texas will help protect star quarterback Michael Vick, and
‘defensive back' Chris Houston from Arkansas helps that area of need.

Also among the Falcons'11 picks from the weekend was a Georgia
Bulldog. Tight end Martrez Milner was taken in the 4th round, the
133rd player overall.
