Another person has drowned at Lake Lanier, marking the fifth drowning in eight days at the Buford lake. An official with the state Department of Resources says a 49-year old man was fishing Saturday afternoon when he decided to leave his boat and go swimming. The man’s body was later found 20-30 yards offshore in water 12 feet deep--he was not wearing a life jacket. Seven people have drowned in Lanier this year, only one off the total for all of 2007.
