Georgia is tops in the nation for entrepreneurship—that’s the word from a new national report ranking small business activity.
The Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity shows Georgia moved from a ranking of third in 2007, to first this year. The study shows the state has 590 entrepreneurs per every 100-thousand adults in Georgia.
Governor Sonny Perdue says the national recognition validates success of the state’s Entrepreneur Friendly program aimed at stimulating small business growth. Perdue’s office says in fiscal year 2009, small businesses have invested more than 354-million dollars in locations and expansions.
