An environmental group says Georgia's power plants emitted more carbon dioxide last year than in the last decade. The report is by Washington, D.C-based Environmental Integrity Project. The groups says in 2007 Georgia emitted more than 100,000,000 tons of CO2, the 8th highest in the nation. According to the report, that's up from 2006 when Georgia emitted over 95,000,000 tons of CO2. Carbon dioxide is the leading so-called "greenhouse gas" that is linked to global warming.
