Homes and businesses near a storage building in south Georgia were evacuated by authorities Monday after explosives were found. Valdosta police say a renter discovered the explosives when he went to retrieve his property. Police found a stash that included handguns, rifles and machine guns. A Georgia Bureau of Investigation bomb squad detonated the explosives. A police spokesman says the storage unit was rented by a man wanted in Collier County-Florida, after violating a 100-thousand dollar bond for narcotics trafficking.
