DNR Wants to Raise State Park Fees

The Department of Natural Resources wants to raise state park fees a couple dollars. Currently visiting Georgia state parks and historic sites cost to three dollars a day and $30 for an annual pass. The department proposes five dollars a day and $50 for a year.

Parking fees provides money for maintenance and repair projects at Georgia’s 63 parks and sites. A hearing to discuss the increase is April 6. The DNR will vote on it at its next meeting on April 29.

Delta says 'no' to first-bag fee

Delta Airlines will still allow passengers to check one bag without facing additional fees. That’s in spite of American Airlines’ announcement Wednesday that it will charge customers $15 for their first checked bag. Record fuel prices are forcing Delta and other airlines to consider adding fees and cutting operating costs.

Delta Airlines raises fees

Delta Air Lines raises its fees today. Frequent fliers, travelers booking flights over the phone and those traveling with pets will be affected.

This comes as Delta tries to boost revenue and offset record fuel prices.

A Delta spokesperson says past fare increases have not been successful because of the industry’s competitive environment.
