The City of Atlanta wants a piece of Congress's $700 billion-dollar bailout. Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin has sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. She requests help with their pension costs, infrastructure investment and cash-flow problems stemming from the global financial crisis. The mayors of Philadelphia and Phoenix have made similar requests. They say cities are facing an economic crisis not seen since the Depression and need help just like financial institutions.
